International Museum Day 2023
In keeping with the current special exhibition under the motto “The sound makes the music”, International Museum Day was celebrated in the local history museum in Salmünster.
The Bad Soden-Salmünster open singing group performed.
Dr. Frank Kleespies and Andreas Fuchs performed world hits, jazz and ancient hits to sing and swing along to.

There was delicious Maibowle and other drinks.
In 1997, the local history and history association Bad Soden-Salmünster e.V. was given the former riding stables in the middle of Salmünster's old town by the city for use as a local history museum in 1978 and was then renovated with a lot of volunteer work.
The local history museum now houses a permanent exhibition on ancient life around 1900.
For example, some people will be reminded of stories from their grandparents when they look into the lovingly prepared kitchen. Here the visitor thinks that the housewife is only away for a short time...
Particular attention is paid to the vivid representation of the life and work of the Franciscans in the Salmünster Monastery. They have left a clear mark on the city over 300 years, not just with the monastery complex and monastery church of St. Peter and Paul that characterize the cityscape. There are also extraordinary church exhibits in the museum. The last monks only left the monastery in 2004.
The barn offers plenty of space for displaying old crafts, such as shoemakers or blacksmiths, as well as agricultural equipment. This invites you to browse and discover curiosities!
