The internationally known sculptor Anton Grauel was born on January 25, 1897 in Bad Soden. After his sculpture apprenticeship with Josef Steinle in Fulda, he studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main with Professor Richard Scheibe and went on various study trips throughout Europe. In 1930 the war memorial he created was erected in Bad Soden, which can still be seen today at Sebastian-Herbst-Platz.
In 1951 Anton Grauel emigrated to America, where he died on December 15, 1971.
The special exhibition dealt with the life and work of the versatile and internationally known artist and featured interesting exhibits.
